The President’s Education Awards Program (PEAP) is a national, nonprofit organization that honors and rewards public school principals who excel in the classroom. This year, PEAP will award more than $1 million in scholarships to students across the country.

President Obama has announced the 2017 Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching, which will be awarded on May 8, 2017. The award recognizes a teacher who has significantly impacted students’ lives in their school.

A: Students apply for one of our six awards. We examine all applications and select the top 10 students from each award category. These top 10 students are invited to a regional awards ceremony, where they compete for the top student award. At the end of the school year, the top two students from each category receive the President Education Award.
